Are You Wonderfully Made?
I started Built For More to help people get fit. There are tons of statistics out there about Obesity and the health crisis in America and I think a big part of the problem is people don’t believe that they are Wonderfully Made, and it gets in their way of staying fit and healthy. Now, I am not talking about being Ken and Barbie. If we compare ourselves against that standard, most of us might as well give up. The problem is, most people think that Ken and Barbie were wonderfully made, but that because we are too short, too tall, too heavy, too light, too slim… you get the idea… that we aren’t wonderfully made. The truth of the matter is, we are wonderfully made! Every single one of us, even you. Are You Wonderfully Made?
In addition to being a Personal Trainer, I’ve worked with kids for many years and here is a game I like to play with them. I’ll pull up a volunteer on stage and tell them that I have a really cool gift in a box. It may be even one of the greatest gifts ever. I ask them all to guess what it is (they never do). I then have the volunteer close their eyes and open the box, and in it is a mirror. I place the mirror in front of the child’s eyes and tell them they are going to see a great gift once they open their eyes. They then open their eyes and see…. themself! What is the typical reaction? They usually get very shy for some reason but they generally are in Awe! No one has ever told them that they are a gift to the world. That there is not one… not one… other person exactly like them. That they have gifts and talents that they can use to change the world.
How about you? Have you looked in the mirror lately? When you do, what do you see? I have a homework assignment for you. When you look in the mirror, I want you to say (in your best Billy Crystal imitation)… “I look mahhhvelous”
I guarantee it will make you feel better about yourself.
All the best!
All the time!
