HOPE is a Four Letter Word

Greetings Athlete!

“I hope”…. can be a trap that I hope you avoid. Hope can be many things, but without action, it is useless. I hope I lose weight – yet you won’t count calories. I hope I’ll age gracefully – yet you won’t go to the gym. I hope I get rich – yet you won’t learn a new skill. I hope I gain muscle – yet you won’t workout hard enough. I hope. While I am a hopeful guy, I know that it can be a crutch for the weak or an excuse for the uncommitted. Hope is unfortunately a four letter word for many people. Yes – you should hope for a better future – BUT – you must follow it with action. If you take action, you can often replace “I hope” with “I will” or “I can” or better yet – “I DID!”

If you hope you lose weight your mantra should be – I watch what I eat, and exercise regularly so – I WILL lose weight!

If you hope to age gracefully your mantra should be – I go to the gym regularly and follow a program so – I WILL age gracefully!

If you want to gain muscle your mantra should be  – I follow a workout program so – I will gain muscle!

Replace “I HOPE” with an action and you will be far better off then waiting for your hopes to magically come to fruition.

All the best!

All the time!
