Exercising For Longevity – You Need to Do More!

According to a Time 2018 article, 77% of adults are not getting enough exercise and odds are that you aren’t doing enough and that you need to do more! The American Heart Association and the Centers for Disease Control have Minimum Requirements that  can be summarized as follows:

Social Media has done you a disservice in that many of you think walking the dog for 20 minutes a day, or getting in your 7000 steps as you go about your business is enough to keep you healthy. While it certainly won’t hurt, you have been misled. You NEED to be doing a lot more. The fact that 77% of us are not getting enough exercise correlates well with obesity statistics in America. I hope you are reading this because you want to get healthy. The good news is that you can improve your health and with the rise in online classes and routines, you really don’t have an excuse anymore of not having enough time. I know, some of you may not have the extra cash to get an online subscription. Well – there are a TON of free workout videos or programs on YouTube as well as relatively inexpensive online programs or apps.

Other Things to Consider

In addition to the muscle strengthening activities, you should also add in the following to age well. Aerobics and Strength are great! However as we age we also need to focus more holistically on ensuring we stay well and healthy.
